Aloaha Timestamper will pack your files into a self-extracting executable file and digitally sign it applying the timestamp of a remote trusted time stamping server.

Nowadays it can be essential to know at what time and date a document has been created, archived or published. The local system time cannot be trusted since it is not exact and can be manipulated without any technical knowledge. A timestamp of a trusted source it required in case it needs to be legally valid.

This is even more essential for business correspondence such as electronic invoices. In most countries the sender and recipient of such correspondence have to archive these documents in a way that the date/time is documented and the archive cannot be modified after it has been sealed. (For example German signature law or the Sarbanes-Oxley Act)

Keys used nowadays for digital signatures are still considered as save and long enough. But nobody is able to predict how long it will take that a 1024 bit key can be forged. Considering that digitally signed documents usually have to be kept between 10 and 30 years it is just a question of time that these documents become invalid due to new technologies.
