When you “delete” a file normally, the operating system simply hides the file, and marks disk area occupied by the file as empty. The file data remains until the area is overwritten. It can be easily recovered by freely available utilities. AccessProof is a free program that overwrites the file data prior to deleting the file, making data recovery impossible.

Features:

* Overwrites to cluster boundary, which cleans the “file slack” as well as obscures the exact length of original file
* Two secure overwrite methods, the standard DoD 5220.22M as well as the Gutmann method for extra protection
* Overwrites file names, as they may give clues to contents of deleted files
* Cleans remnants of previously deleted files from free space
* Simple, intuitive interface takes no time to get going
* Easily process many files at once with add by directory
* Pause and Resume large jobs if you need to use the computer
* Written in C++, so it takes up only 56 KB of disk space — smaller than most web photos!
* Does not require installation or registry modification, carry it with you on a thumb drive
* Spyware, malware, virus, and adware free (would hardly fit in a 56 KB program)
* Available for 100% free download, no registration required
