Win7codecs 1.3.5 : Windows 7 Codecs

These Windows 7 codecs do not change or interfere with the support Microsoft has provided concerning native codec support in Windows Media Player 12 and Media Center. A DXVA accelerated H264 codec is also provided by the codec package for all other players.

The following filetypes are enabled and SUPPORTED by the installation of the Windows 7 Codecs.
amr | mpc | ofr | divx | mka | ape | flac | evo | flv | m4b | mkv | ogg | ogv | ogm | rmvb | xvid
All of the above filetypes can be queue’d to the Windows Media Player Playlist using a rightclick.

Win7codecs 1.2.1

t does not contain a media player and it does not associate file-types. With this package installed you will be able to use any media player, limited only by the players’ capabilities, to play all movies and video clips. Streaming video is supported in several formats in all popular web browsers. Users of the Win7codecs have the ability to choose what is installed and where to install it using the public redistributable. After installation you can select to remove specific portions without removing the entire package. You can also re-add the removed items at any time.

This package supports 20 localizations. The default is English and the installer includes support for the following other languages; Arabic, Chinese Simplified/Traditional, Japanese, Czech, Danish, Dutch, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Italian, Norwegian, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Polish, Swedish and Turkish. Koepi XviD 1.2.2

Xvid is an open-source research project focusing on video compression and is a collaborative development effort. All code is released under the terms of the GNU GPL license.

The Xvid video codec implements MPEG-4 Simple Profile and Advanced Simple Profile standards. It permits compressing and decompressing digital video in order to reduce the required bandwidth of video data for transmission over computer networks or efficient storage on CDs or DVDs. Due to its unrivalled quality Xvid has gained great popularity and is used in many other GPLed applications, like e.g. Transcode, MEncoder, MPlayer, Xine and many more.

Since being founded in 2001, the Xvid project focuses on MPEG-4 video compression. Early Xvid versions (0.9.x) implemented MPEG-4 simple profile (SP) de- and encoding. The Xvid 1.0 source tree introduced MPEG-4 advanced simple profile (ASP) compression including all advanced coding tools like B-frames, quarterpixel motion compensation and GMC. The upcoming development branch Xvid 2.0 adds support for MPEG-4 advanced video coding (AVC) de- and encoding up to High Profile and dramatically advances upon the compression performance of earlier Xvid versions.

Summary

* MPEG-4 Video Codec library
* SP/ASP/AVC de-/encoding support
* Open-source software released under GPL license
* Optimized for highest picture quality and archival purposes
* Primary platform PC (Windows and Linux)
* High-performance due to extensive assembly optimizations
